Policy and Practice

Over the years we’ve done a lot in the field of equity, diversity and inclusion in education. Sometimes all schools or academies need is some help with developing a range of policies including

-talent spotting and succession planning for diversity

-teaching and learning: equity and inclusion ( including decolonising the curriculum)

-induction and admissions policy for new arrivals from BME backgrounds

-effective practice for setting up affinity groups

-effective policy and practice for diverse recruitment and retention.

If we can’t help, we proably know someone who can. Great policy is the tool which addresses discrimination at an institutional level so it needs to be clear enough and broad enough to have impact but not so detailed users get lost in the fine print. If it isn’t lived, it isn’t a policy.

Get the policy and its implementation and review right and lots of issues will take care of themselves.
